The one classic and happy wardrobe piece that helps transition one season to another: stripes.
Where did summer go? I feel like I blinked and now it’s almost the middle of August. Next thing you know, it will be fall. In the South, our autumns stay warm through September. And here at the beach, it’s toasty well into October. Which can get a little awkward when the rest of the country is wearing tall boots and wool blazers…yet we’re sweating by 11:00am. So we have to be clever about our outfits and include colors and layers that look the part but can be peeled away throughout the day, then added back later if there’s a rare chill.
A comfy striped dress is perfect for this task. Stylish for late summer and great for an early fall transition. For an easy fall touch they can be accented with a lightweight cardi, jacket, blazer, denim, or scarf. Since the last striped dress I featured sold out in a matter of minutes, I thought this time it would be good to include a bigger selection with various price ranges. Voila, my striped dress round up. Man, I nearly burned the polycarbonate right off my computer sourcing these. Harder than I thought it would be! Hats off to fashion bloggers who do this all the time. Do they sleep at night?

This week school starts for three of our four kids. Next week they’re all officially back in school. I can’t believe it. I think we’re going to be in shock with the crazy hour we have to start getting up again…we are a house full of night owls. Thank God for morning coffee.
